			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bruce Nemerov is a musician and writer living in middle Tennessee.  </p>
<p>Bruce  is co-author of <em>The Story Behind the Song: 150 Songs that Chronicle the 20<sup>th</sup> Century</em> (Greenwood Press; 2004) and editor (with Robert Gordon) of <em>Lost Delta Found; Rediscovering the Fisk University-Library of Congress Coahoma County Study, 1941-1942</em> (Vanderbilt University Press; 2005). The latter book has been nominated for several awards and reviewed in major publications including <em>The New York Times</em> and <em>Chicago Tribune.</em></p>
<p>Bruce also writes commentaries and essays on a regular basis for National Public Radio’s <em>All Things Considered</em> on the subject of Southern musical and social history. Link to audio at:</p>

<p> Bruce produced, and wrote extensive album notes for, <em>John Work III: Recording Black Culture</em>, a compact disc of field recordings of African-American musicians from Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama, 1938-1942. <p> Bruce has composed and performed music for film and television and produced and recorded albums for a variety of companies, including Warner Bros., Flying Fish, RCA Victor, and Rounder. He was an original cast member of Public Radio’s comedy show <em>Riders Radio Theater starring Riders in the Sky </em>and now tours as a solo guitarist and in a vocal &amp; guitar duet, The Fedora Bros.</p>
<p>Spring 2010: Spring Fed Records releases Bruce&#8217;s first collection of original and &#8220;recomposed&#8221; traditional tunes. <em>Zeno Dreamed</em> exposes the Scots-Irish and African-American roots of Southern music.</p>
